Sometimes I will tell people that I became a psychologist because I am nosy. More seriously, I am motivated by an insatiable curiosity and desire to understand others. I use these drives to help me connect with my clients. Whether my clients’ goals are self-understanding, making meaning, building a life worth living, developing skills, or simply feeling heard, I strive to show up authentically and empathetically.
In collaboration with my clients, I offer insights derived from my experiences working with complex trauma, personality problems, neurodivergence, mood/anxiety disorders, and alcohol or drug concerns. I have worked with adults and young people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, across both custodial and community settings. I favour techniques and concepts derived from a number of therapeutic perspectives, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Schema Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing.
I am registered as a Psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and am currently completing my registrar program to become an endorsed Forensic Psychologist.
